Waltz is a wistful new work for concert band, influenced by great romantic composers like Dmitri Shostakovich. Waltz is suitable for both professional concert bands and amateur groups.

Ilari Hylkilä wrote the Waltz in 2014. It was commissioned by Petri Junna, Minna Kajander and Ruskatrööttä wind music festival. Waltz was premiered by Ruskatrööttä festival orchestra (dir. Tero Haikala) in a Finnish city, Lieksa in 2014. In 2016 Ilari Hylkilä arranged Waltz for symphony orchestra. In 2018 and 2019 he rewrote Waltz for concert band.
