A timpani solo with marimba (OR piano) accompaniment, about the mythical Australian animal, with its origin unknown. Probably comes from the idea that Australia has many dangerous animals, and koalas do have quite sharp claws they can use if need be. If dehydrated they can drop from trees. The drop bear is said to be bigger than a usual koala, and is a carnivorous animals that can drop from high branches on unsuspecting animals. If the timpanist wants to avoid changing the pitch of the timpani they can start after the introduction, or let the marimba play the timpani cue.
Here the Drop Bear is painted as an evil character, but also a cool dude riding the branches and flying through the air. Enjoy!
