Composed by John M. Honeycutt. Children,Folk,Instructional,Traditional. Score. 20 pages. Music Innovators Workshop #4580395. Published by Music Innovators Workshop (A0.984737).

This is the first unit in our Basic Keyboard Skills Series consisting of 15 units, and consisting of 326 pages. These units are listed on the cover of the present unit so that you can see the basic content of the series. Simply click on the picture of the cover to bring up the first page of the unit containing this content listing.

The present unit explains how the key diagrams and maps work to make learning to play the piano easier and less stressful than with traditional notation. It cannot, and is not intended to replace traditional notation. It is intended simply to be an easy notation for those who don't have the time or inclination to spend years learning to read traditional notation. For those willing to take the time and effort to learn to read traditional notation (highly recommended) it makes a really great way to get started playing, and provides an excellent foundation for learning to read  traditional notation.

That having been said, the focus in the series is not on the notation itself, which is just is a means to an end. The focus on the series is LEARNING HOW TO PLAY THE PIANO - as easily and as quickly as possible.
