A rare tango-lullaby in Yiddish. The piece was written and performed in 1943 in the Lodz Ghetto. The poet, Isiah Shipgl, wrote the haunting and dark text for his perished one year old daughter. The text describes leaving their burning home with baggage in hand in search for better luck, later feeling abandoned and hopeless in the abyss of the elements. The text has a strong correlation to today's families, also leaving their burning homes in search of better luck. Shpigl survived, but the composer, David Beyglman perished in 1944. .
