Composed by Ellis Brooks. Arranged by P. Daniel Brittain. Traditional. Brass Band. 58 pages. Philip Brittain #3063019. Published by Philip Brittain (A0.971838).

March from the late 1800's. Ellis Brooks was an editor for Lyon and Healy in Chicago, as well as directing his own bands. Title supposedly comes from the settlers on the high plains/prairies needing fuel for heating and cooking. Lacking many trees, they turned to the readily available "buffalo chip." Brisk, up-tempo march with a fair amount of syncopation, Fun to perform. See concert band edition for a recording by the alumni band of the U S Army Training and Doctrine Command Band.
