Just Try to Steal a Cookie Blues is a late elementary, Blues style, piece which my students really enjoy playing.  A main focus of the piece is in the B section where students learn that their hands can play on top of one another, just like in Debussy's "Golliwog's Cakewalk."  The melody's suggestion is that of sneaking past mom, or dad, to steal a cookie.  Students must control their technique in order to make the piece sound "sneaky."  Chromatic finger work is highlighted in the B section as well.  A fun performance piece I am sure your students will enjoy very much!  .
