A beautiful traditional melody, describing heartache and loss of a man who went to war as a mercenary sometime in the 16th century, after he erroneously believed that he had killed a rival for the favours of a village girl. Upon returning home he found his rival alive but his beloved girl had died from heartache.
Carefully arranged with some more modern arranging techniques. Easy playability for youth orchestras and ensembles.
