The Falls is a three movement piano piece. Each of the three movements dictate a different musical texture. The first movement, Ripple, creates a lush tone world where time and rhythm are a fluid element of the piece. The second movement, Stream, utilizes a somber melody over chorale-like chords. The final movement uses the piano as bombastic machine to create various rhythmic ideas.
