This collection is dedicated to the legacy of the worldrenowned cellist Emanuel Feuermann and comprises six pieces often performed throughout his extensive career. The works are presented with updated fingerings and bowings by cellist pedagogue Marion Feldman. Three are unique, never-before published arrangements of repertoire masterpieces made by the cellist himself. Included in this volume are copies of Feuermanns original manuscripts of the famous Polonaise Brilliante by Chopin, Handels Adagio and Allegro, and Tartinis Variations on a Theme of Corelli. The fingerings and bowings for Dvo?raks Rondo were transcribed directly from a film of Feuermann performing. Completing the collection are insightful interviews with Feuermanns granddaughter, Marika Hughes, an essay on interpretation penned by the cellist, and a collection of photographs showcasing performances and off-stage life. This well-rounded legacy is a welcome addition to every cellists library, and a fitting tribute to one of the instruments liveliest virtuosos.
