If you're anything like me, you spend a lot of time thinking about songs to perform for your winter concert that the audience hasn't heard a million times before. "White Winter Hymnal" fits the bill for the guitar ensemble that wants to play something with a familiar feel, but is overall brand new to the audience and the performers. The song uses very repetitive rhythmic patterns to make beginner guitar players feel comfortable, but offers challenges in the melody lines that complete the harmony, as they shift into higher positions on the fretboard. There are also two guitar solos that aren't overly technically challenging to your more ambitious players. Even though the title suggests it would be a delightful addition to your winter concert repertoire, "White Winter Hymnal" by Fleet Foxes is a fun and accessible piece to play all year round.
