Arranged by David Burroughs. Ringing Excellence. Handbell. Handbell Part. Celebrating Grace #264153. Published by Celebrating Grace (CB.264153).

UPC: 810008341612. 8.5 x 11.0 inches.

A contemporary treatment experiments with the ringers as a rhythmic machine--stomping, clapping, and ringing repetitive and building patterns. The composer's goal for this innovative section is for the ringers to have fun. A rarely heard verse of the hymn features an optional vocal soloist: "Ye friends of Zion's king, with hearts and voices sing, and strike each tuneful string in God's praise!" The final section drops all of the rhythmic devices and focuses attention on the first verse, "What wondrous love is this..." The contrast is intended to draw in the audience, so that they hear these familiar words in a deeper way. Arranged for Handbells (3-4 octaves) and Tenor Solo (or Unison Men's Choir). Handbell Level 2+.
