Wagner: Siegfried Idyll arranged symphonic wind ensemble by Richard Wagner Large Ensemble - Digital Sheet Music

By Richard Wagner

An arrangement for symphonic wind (and double bass) of Wagner's orchestral piece. Arranged 2 fl, ob, 3 cl, bass cl,2 hns, trumpet and double bass I have transposed it from E to Eb major mainly for the 4 clarinettists, who have most of the string parts. Most of the clarinet parts have some divisi, so ideally 2 clarinets per instrument. The clarinets are now in Bb rather in A as in a lot of the original. The horn parts are now mainly in Eb (E in the original). This maintains the clarity of reading the parts. I will include 2 horn in F parts in due course for any players unused to rapid transposition, but, although easeier to play, to me, as a horn player, just don't look right! The trumpet part (originally trumpet in C) would have been trumpet in B, so I have arranged using trumpet in Bb and added a key signature. The trumpet part, which only has 13 bars of playing, can be omittted, but it's entry for this few bars, gives the music that oomph!! at that time. A challenge for all players, but well worth it.
