A stirring and energetic arrangement of a Basque carol, with words from Ephrem of Syria in praise of the Virgin Mary. Some unison and two-part mixed writing is crowned by divisi sections for both men's and women's voices. The final "Ave Mater Domini" refrain is punctuated with a rallentando, crescendo, and glorious Picardy third.
