It is chanted on Friday evenings as part of the Sabbath/Shabbat liturgy in synagogues around the world to praise God.
It’s haunting melodies are developed throughout the three movements which are based on three different tunes.
This arrangement was written in dedication to those who perished in the Holocaust for Yom HaShoah / Holocaust Remembrance Day.
