A Wonderful Publication!
My first copy was stolen from the shelf above my *winter coat when I went to Fellowship after service. I'd had it about 3 years. There is so much repertoire in this fantastic collection, I ordered a new copy and guard it like a hawk! It is helpful for half-hour demo recitals because it allows touching on pieces from several composers and styles. A MUST-HAVE. Thank you Hal H. Hopson!

The Ultimate Organ Book
I am in total agreement with Anonymous and have also returned this book. Although the titles that comprise the Table of Contents are excellent, the arrangement of each piece is sadly lacking in full harmonic beauty, particularly when compared with the original compositions. Being able to purchase a similar book containing the original renditions would be an organist's dream!! Several of the arrangements are even written with the melodic line being played by the left hand and the accompaniment played by the right hand. This approach does not sound pleasing on many older pipe organs where the upper manuals tend to be quite shrill. I was eagerly awaiting being able to have so many masterpieces available to play for every type of church service. I shall make future purchases from a retail outlet where I am able to view the arrangement of each piece rather than buying online and having the extra cost of paying shipping and handling costs twice. What a disappointment indeed!!

Disappointed
I was disappointed with this purchase and will return it because the table of contents lists so many great pieces by great composers, but when the music is played, you find that the arranger, in an attempt to simplify them, has emptied the original pieces of a great deal of their beauty. It's like thinking you bought a Mustang and finding the engine of a Fiat inside. The music has lost its power. I'm not a music person and bought it as a gift, so it would help if I were able to listen to the pieces on line before purchasing. Other arrangers give this option. What I'm really looking for is this same collection of unaltered original pieces were it available.

The Ultimate Organ Book
An excellent compilation of worn and not-so-worn wedding compositions. A book to get when starting a career in working in the churchs. The book lays flat; the spacings in each measure is easy on the eyes. The surprise in the book are the bridal fanfares which seem to be required at each wedding. I may have enjoyed different editors' work and arrangements for this edition. I wish I would have bought this book when I was younger.

Great buy
Well known pieces, and playable, with some sight-readable to the late intermediate player. Most require practice for the average early to mid intermediate organist. Few manual only pieces.

Compact book
I am very happy when I receive that book. Very clear, and have lots of christian church musics. I definitely recommend it.

The Ultimate Organ Book
I use this book all the time, for regular services, weddings, and funerals. It's great that it has easy pieces that require no practice whatsoever, also some much harder ones, like some Bach chorales, Karg-Elert's Nun Danket, and the popular Widor Toccata--often in shortened editions that are a better length for a church service. A great book--and after 4 years of heavy use, my cover is more or less hanging on. My favorite book!

Great Addition to your Repertoire
This has been like a Bible to me and have used it in Episcopal, Anglican, Methodist and Baptist churches...great for weddings and all seasons of the church year. The cover does need to be stiffened (mine is falling apart), but otherwise it is worth every penny paid for it. I use it probably 20 times a year. I love Hal Hopson!

Love the content Hate the Cover
I love having at my fingertips different selections to pick from in this book. However, because the cover is made too flimsily it won't stand up on the organ book rack! Hope you revise the cover for future buyers. It is very frustrating when you go to turn a page and the book collapses as you are playing! NOT GOOD! For that reason I give this collection of wonderful music 1 star!

Should be called the Greatest Organ Book
This collection has a little of everything and can be played thoughout the Church year. Most pieces can be worked up quickly and have songs ready for preludes, postludes, offertories or interludes. There are works included specifically for weddings and funerals too. My only complaint is, I use this book so much that the thin paper covers have already started to tear loose from the spiral binding.
