Two Teasdale Settings for SA Choir 1. Leaves 2. There Will Come Soft Rains SA - Sheet Music

Sara Teasdale has many beautiful poems. The two used for this set speak of nature, but also to an underlying darkness which is present in many of her works. The poem "Leaves" is about a small tree growing, but unable to feel the warmth of the sun or see the stars until the leaves of the larger trees died and fell to the ground. The poem "There Will Come Soft Rains" is about how mankind will have wars and fight, yet in the end, nature will take over as if they were never there. Both pieces are meant to be accessible for a beginning SA choir and have the option of being performed with or without piano. Large portions of both pieces are unison to help choirs settle into the performance before dividing into parts. If performing a cappella, please omit the piano-only measures.
