Composed by Samuel Wellman. Children,Contemporary. Score. 5 pages. Samuel Wellman #3010559. Published by Samuel Wellman (A0.882110).

I had two aims in writing these pieces: 1) use a row that mostly outlined triads, so that familiar chords resulted, and 2) make the pieces easy enough that less-advanced players could handle them. Adding fun titles enhances the appeal: 'Plain Jane;' 'Playing in Mud;' 'Chocolate for Lunch;' etc. So younger players are a target group. In the 21st century twelve-tone writing appears to be a thing of the past, but, like other styles, it is nowhere near to being exhausted. As my set illustrates, dodecaphonic writing doesn't have to be dark, difficult or unpleasant.
