Composed by P. F. Strohm. 20th Century,Chamber,Contemporary,Contest,Festival. 48 pages. Pete Strohm Music #704251. Published by Pete Strohm Music (A0.1100473).

"Trombone Trio No. 2", by American composer P. F. Strohm, is a tonal, three-movement work for Medium-Advanced trombonists (two tenor and one bass trombone). The first movement, a rapid 6/8 centers around the key of C and provides a driving, apprehensive opening. The second movement, in contrast, is a somber F minor, perhaps indicative of loss or grief. Movement three starts with an F minor introduction, followed by an traditional F Major dance that starts slowly and builds to a high-spirited conclusion. The piece is just the right level of difficulty (medium-advanced) to challenge accomplished high school players and beyond. Audiences and players will enjoy the sound, energy and showmanship of the piece. With its 10:00 performance time it is perfect for contest, concert or recital. Member, ASCAP.
