Trombone Concerto Op. 114 by Derek Bourgeois Piano Accompaniment - Sheet Music
By Derek BourgeoisDerek Bourgeois' Trombone Concerto is a substantial twenty-minute piece in three movements, "Allegro," "Adagio," and "Presto." Because trombonists from the worlds of pop and jazz would attend the premiere as well as classical artists, Bourgeois decided to make his new concerto musically ecumenical, and it was deliberately tailored to have an appeal wider than the usual classical audience. The third movement, in particular, was a great hit.

Lots of intriquet sections to work on. Super fun to listen and play to. It's quite a project to take on but is a good to have under your hat, especially if you can play the third movement up to speed. Recommended for any moderately advanced player!

This concerto is very challenging and very enjoyable. A great modern work for trombone. Expresses both the dark and bright sounds of the instrument.
