Trio No. 1 for Violin, Cello, and Piano was composed in 2025 and is written in five movements. I intentionally chose this larger structure to explore a wider variety of styles, characters, and tempos.

Rhythm of Two Worlds – juxtaposes two contrasting Latin rhythms.
Passacaglia – inspired by Ravel’s use of this form in his Trio for Violin, Cello, and Piano.
Kinetic Surge – a driving, high-energy centerpiece filled with action and speed.
Pastorale – the most peaceful movement, serving as a lyrical bridge between the intensity of the third and the exuberance of the fifth.
Festive Dance – includes a violin cadenza, passages of pizzicato melody, and two sections of up-tempo swing that reinforce its celebratory dance character.
