The weight of their story brought me to tears, and I resonate deeply with their stories and felt a profound connection to their memory.A music arrangement of mine typically takes days or even weeks to complete, but this was different. In what felt like an unexplainable moment of inspiration, I completed this arrangement in a single sitting—just two hours on my bed with an iPad. As if it was something greater was guiding me, helping me bring this music to life, almost feeling like this arrangement is meant to be crafted. This arrangement is my tribute to the Livingston girls, Everly and Alydia, and their parents, Peter and Donna, and all those who perished. Through this piece, I hope to honor their memory and share the emotions that first inspired me to create it.Due to the natural resonance of both the D Major and D minor keys, I recommend performing this piece with a cello performance mute in order to enhance its intimate and reflective qualities. Additionally, I have intentionally left bowing options open, allowing performers the freedom to interpret the phrasing in a way that speaks to them personally.
