Based on the true events, Valkyrie tells the story of Operation Valkyrie, a 1943 plot by Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg and other Nazi officers to remove Hitler from power and contain the S.S., thus saving Germany from its inevitable annihilation. John Ottman once again joins his regular collaborator, director Bryan Singer, in the role of composer and editor. A highlight of the score, “They’ll Remember You” is a beautiful setting of Goethe’s Wandrers Nachtlied II, a poem widely regarded as one of the most perfect lyrics in the German language. Created from the original manuscript, this release offers a rare opportunity to study film music in its authentic, original orchestration and arrangement. An opportunity not to be missed!
