There's Always Tomorrow by Johnny Marks String Orchestra - Digital Sheet Music
By Johnny MarksAfter a search for a feature holiday piece for our oboe player came up empty for our ensemble, I chose to arrange one of my favorite pieces with an oboe solo and concert band. The premiere wasn't perfect, but with the combined video of the scrolling score while hearing the Finale audio followed by the Jamestown Community Band during the premiere. Oboist, Louanne Mackenzie. The arrangement begins very simply with oboe accompanied by upper woodwinds, adding more voices as it progresses. The brass enter with a fanfare the second time through the theme that is eventually made more complex through a jazz waltz feel, then the fanfare theme that modulates and eventually becomes dissonent. The resolution is the repeat of the beginning simple statement of the main theme with oboe solo leading to the full ensemble with a soft warm ending (with a quote from "Annie", "just thinking about tomorrow.")
