Next best thing to a live teacher
The Estelle Liebling course is inexpensive, has books for all of the major voice types, and can be adapted for use by any competent vocal instructor. The only issue is that one cannot teach one's self how to sing classically, due to the 'inner hearing' needed, that can only be supplied by a trained vocal professional. But, once one knows what to listen for, this compact vocal reference can be used (along with Vaccai, etc.) as a 'text 101' for voice building. Accompaniments for the teacher are med. difficulty.
