Yes, the song was popular in its time, but it wasn't until 1974 when the tune was used in the movie "The Sting" that it became a sensation. This String Trio arrangement leaves the melody line to the 1st violin - with the 2nd violin in complementing harmonies of 3rds or 6ths. The cello sustains the rhythmic beat with its standard bass line.
