I LOVE this book! All of the songs have fabulous arrangements and are generally easy to play and sing along with at the same time, if you're an intermediate to advanced player. I only have two main concerns: the Piano Man arrangement has a lot of D.S. al Codas that can make it very difficult to know which page to turn to, and also I wish the song Lullaby (Goodnight my Angel) was one of the songs in this book, since it is one of my favorites.

Wow! I am a professional pianist but I rely on sheet music instead of improvisation. This is the kind of book where you open it up, choose a page, and sound exactly like Billy Joel. Since his piano parts are so rich you do not need to add much. My husband is a singer and we have had so much fun collaborating with this book! You do need to have pretty solid rhythm and keyboard skills to successfully play through the book. I wish ALL his songs were in this format!

I'm rather impressed with the note-for-note transcription books I've bought. If you're paying attention to a recording, they are (as close as can be) accurate to the PIANO as played by the artist. This is not beginner music. If you are an extremely talented beginner, then you will be able to work your way through them, however what some talented beginners fail to realize is that beginner music is in five-finger positions generally, with very little movement. Rock piano is late-intermediate, and this book fits the bill. Great for parties or singing to yourself.

I should have looked at the reviews before I waisted my money. They are not written even close to the original. What a waist of sheet music!
