Originating in Africa and developed in Haiti, a bamboula was danced for festivals and ceremonies. The 11 minute arrangement has an optional cut to make it seven minutes and is scored for British brass band instrumentation of E-flat cornet, B-flat cornets, flugelhorn, E-flat alto horns, baritone horn, euphonium, trombones and E-flat and B-flat basses with parts set in treble clef except bass trombone. Optional brass instrumentaion is provided with substiute F horn parts for E-flat alto horns and bass clef parts for low brass.
