Published by Chris Siddall Music Publishing (A0.1702445).Despite enduring popularity of the original “Addams Family” print cartoon and the 1960’s television spin-off, a live-action movie continuing the concept took decades to develop. 1991’s The Addams Family remained faithful to the tone, story and look of the original print cartoon, nodding to the television show a few times along the way.
The composing assignment went to an ascendant Marc Shaiman, whose Broadway sensibilities were a perfect match; his musical sense of humour bringing a combination of slapstick orchestral comedy, Eastern European romance, and outright bizarre song and dance.
Created from the original manuscript, this release offers a rare opportunity to study film music in its authentic, original orchestration and arrangement. An opportunity not to be missed!
