This beautiful and varied solo work, full of lyricism and technique, is a challenge for every euphonium player.
"Symphonic Rhapsody" is not just a solo with an accompaniment, but certainly a fascinating interplay between solo and orchestra.
The theme exposed by the euphonium is known as "Old Chariot" and this theme is varied throughout the piece. Dit fraaie en gevarieerde solowerk,vol lyriek en techniek, is een uitdaging voor iedere euphoniumblazer.
De 'Symphonic Rhapsody' is ook niet enkel een solo met een begeleiding maar wel degelijk een boeiend samenspel tussen solo en orkest.
Het thema dat na 25 maten door de euphonium wordt voorgedragen is bekendonder de naam 'Old Chariot' en op dit thema wordt gedurende het werk gevarieerd.
