SWINGSET Jazz Ensemble - Digital Sheet Music

This is a medium easy jazz waltz that periodically switches to 4/4 for a few measures during the melodic statement. Solos are written in the lead alto and lead trumpet part, but can easily be added for any instrumentalist. It's a fun chart that will fill a great spot in any jazz ensemble program, especially a spring concert (see note below). No guitar part included in this version. Piano part can substitute, with slight alteration. The piece is meant to be a joyous reflection at the end of the high school journey. It recalls younger student days on the playground when life and school seemed a little more carefree. The progression at the beginning of the melody is the swing set motif :) Along the way the melody adds a little change in time, representing the fact that as you progress in life things don’t always stay so predictable. You can get through these times, but you have to stay focused and roll with the changes to keep from missing a beat!
