Nice litle bit of seasonal Victoriana here! Six short pieces depicting scenes from Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, for clarinet and piano, each one complete with a brief extract from the book. You could play them as incidental music to a dramatisation of the story, or maybe have aomebody read the extracts in between pplaying the pieces.

Bah, Humbug! is a miserable, distorted version of God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen, portraying Scrooge at his most misanthropic
Young Scrooge's Minuet shows us that he was once a happy young man.
Fezziwig's Dance is lively and jig-like, in 9/8, quite common for country dances at that era.
A Dark Spirit is chromatic and brooding, showing Scrooge's frightening encounter with the Ghost of hristmas Yet to Come. This will test your tone in the lower register.
Scrooge's Lullaby shows our hero sleeping off the visits of the three ghosts. This would make a sweet lullaby for anybody, not just an old miser!
Joy to us All, Every One! echoes Tiny Tim's closing words, and is a topsy-turvy re-working of Joy To The World. This is a real exercise in articulkation.

All of these piees would suit a player between grades 2-4; it presents quite a few challenges in playing over the break.
