A Lovely Lullaby
For the clarinet, this is relatively straight forward arrangement of the tune. The accompaniment blends nicely with the clarinet line, making it more of a duet than a simple solo with background chords. At times the accompaniment has the melody and the clarinet has the harmony. The clarinet part is mostly in the throat tones tones and lower notes of the clarion register. Thus, there is a lot of going over the break. There are also several repeated octave skips from the lower clarion C to high C (thumb and register key). While this is definitely an early intermediate piece, I think it could appeal to a more advance player who wants a lovely, expressive piece that is easy to put together. I played as part of an instrumental prelude on Christmas Eve. It was well received.
