Published by David McKeown (A0.586956).Soul Man was a huge hit for Sam and Dave and the Stax record label in 1967. The song marked an important milestone in the acceptance of black music by white audiences and the title was partly responsible for the naming of the "Soul" genre of music.
This arrangement of Soul Man is written with accessibility in mind. In my experience school and community bands can rarely call upon a full range of instruments and abilities so the standard here is early intermediate and the parts are flexible to suit what is at your disposal.
This arrangement can also be used by smaller groups and combos looking to add this perennial favourite to their repertoire.
The structure and overall feel is faithful to the original by Sam and Dave.
The key is optimised for rhythm section, vocal and instrumental parts.
