Composed by Karen McAulay, music and lyrics. Contemporary. Score. 8 pages. Dr Karen E McAulay #4623801. Published by Dr Karen E McAulay (A0.984286).

You could say Shakespeare has come to the Scottish Borders, here. I've always liked the idea of spinsters spinning in the sun, as described by one of Shakespeare's characters in Twelfth Night, so I combined this with the old Borders folklore that every spinning wheel has its own resident fairy. These habetrots aren't the ethereal Tinkerbell kind of fairy! They'll do your work - but at a price.
It's written for a mezzo soprano or baritone with piano accompaniment, with a vocal range from A below middle C, to F on the top line of the treble clef.
