Sonata in G Major for Flute, Viola, and Contrabass Flute - Sheet Music

Johann George Tromlitz - Sonata in G Major, arranged for Flute, Viola, and Contrabass by Gudrun Hinze. From the arranger: "Johann George Tromlitz was the successor to Johan Adam Hiller as principal flute in the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra as one of its founding members. To celebrate the 300th anniversary of his birth, I have arranged his Sonata in G major, originally for obbligato harpsichord and flute, as a trio for flute/piccolo, viola and double bass. The first movement sounds charming on the flute, the second, with its lovely pastoral character, sounds good on the piccolo - but I leave the choice to the performers! In keeping with the custom of the time, I have given few articulations. The musicians can add these spontaneously and individually, as well as short improvisations in the fermatas."
