Diana Mascari's Sonata for Alto Saxophone and Piano is a long-awaited composition from her catalog. It is the first piece which features the alto sax and with piano accompaniment that she has written (completed in January 2024. The movements are: I. Swing, II. Introspection, III. Beguine and the total duration is approximately 11'40". In addition to the jazz influence so characteristic of Ms. Mascari's work, this sonata is the reflects the love she has for classical works for this instrument. In addition to four saxophone quartets (one with pipe organ), a piece for Tenor Saxophone and pipe organ, Diana composed a concerto for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra which was premiered in Switzerland in the late 1990s.
