SIX FOR A DANCE

for classical guitar (2000)

Duration: 2:30 minutes

PROGRAM NOTES:
The composer writes about his work:
"

Program Notes:

In this short piece I imagined a female dancer who dances energetically, with a pair of castanets in her hands. Yet, I had no intentions to create flamenco music, but rather to twist fragments of it. The piece is built in three sections: fast, slow, fast. In the slow sections, I had in mind the sound and character of the Ud – the lute’s Mediterranean cousin. Six for a Dance is dedicated to Aaron Larget-Caplan."
