While the composer himself transcribed the work for solo piano the following year, the first orchestration for a large ensemble was completed by Swiss conductor Ernest Ansermet in 1939. This version for a wind ensemble of 14 instruments was first arranged by a Graham Sheen in 1994 and has been revised in 2022. Movements: 1. Pour invoquer Pan, dieu du vent d'été (To invoke Pan, god of the summer wind), 2. Pour un tombeau sans nom (For a nameless tomb), 3. Pour que la nuit soit propice (In order that the night be propitious), 4. Pour la danseuse aux crotales (For the dancer with crotales), 5. Pour l'égyptienne (For the Egyptian woman), and 6. Pour remercier la pluie au matin (To thank the morning rain). Instrumentation: 3(3dPicc).1+EH.3+BCl.2+CBsn: 2.0.0.0.
