Composed by Franz Schubert (1797 - 1828). Arranged by Pat Spence. Concert,Romantic Period,Wedding,World. 28 pages. Piper Publications #3435943. Published by Piper Publications (A0.811665).

The original piano pieces have been arranged for wind quintet by Pat Spence. The popularity of the waltz in Vienna began during the 1820s when it was still  developing from a lively peasant dance popular amongst all classes into its later, more elegant phase. These dances were written after 1824 - probably for Schubert's own gatherings and published by Schubert for use in the large dance halls which were all the rage at the time.  The three dances would have been played as one continuous piece for dancing and the tempo would not alter.
