This contains 27 songs. All songs are 2-3 min, which is appropriate and suitable for my use of his music (church offertory music). His music has a certain poetic flow, and some people may feel they are all similar as he has a certain compositional structure (arpeggio, unison, tonality, etc). Of 27 songs, I found 12 songs particularly beautiful. Considering music books always have hit and miss. A rate of 12 better songs with total 27 is still a successful choice of book to me, especially with this price. And musical notation is straightforward and very easy to follow.

I strongly recommend this album by JM Stevens. The inspiration for his music rises from his soul. It seems to reflect his life experience & deep emotion. I especially like the fact that most pieces are spiritual and inspiring without being narrowly religious so they are appropriate for many different kinds of worship services and other kinds of events. Also great for just sitting down and playing through them. I find that Steven's music, including this album, speak to me. The are not too difficult, yet not simplistic. Stevens composes lovely melodies with harmonies that are sometimes unexpected.
