Rainy Weather Piano Solo - Digital Sheet Music

I'm not sure where to begin with this song. Over the last few weeks, after accomplishing a crazy amount of amazing things and pushing through college, I have felt very, very exhausted. To feel this way.. and then to know that I have so much more that I have to do, with one more year until graduation and then who knows what after that... it is a terrifying feeling. I think I am more nervous about the months to come than I was last year when I made my "Sonata of Fear," which was all about my fears for what I have left to accomplish. This bled into my music. Overthinking every single detail, I had so many ideas for at least 6 different songs but so worn out and scared of my music somehow regressing into something that was no longer good, or something that I no longer enjoyed. But my fear of creating because I didn't want to spoil it was exactly what started spoiling it for me. So I decided to take a step back from all of the different ideas, all of the pain and anxiety and exhaustion I was feeling that I could make a song about, and decided to make a song about a happy memory. When I was 8, I loved the rain so much. I used to put on my little rain boots and go on adventures with my Mom and with other family members. That's what this song is about. Sonically, I wanted to go for the imagery of rain, but not a heavy rain. A light rain. A perfect rain. A distant memory that I have completely ignored and pushed aside over the years to separate who I am now from who I was whenever I was younger. Not intentionally, but just as a way to deal with all of the trauma. This song helped me connect with my younger self. It helped me remember that the 8 year old boy who was so sweet and so happy, just wanting to go out on an adventure in the rain despite everything that happened to him even at such a young age WAS me and IS me. That connection has served as a reminder that I am strong enough and deserve to achieve my dreams, including making music that helps the lives of others. This song looks past all of the muddiness and negativity to the clarity underneath. This isn't to say that I'm done with making darker music or that I dislike the music that I've made, but this song just serves as a reminder that, whenever I finish a song, that song is a result of my own self improvement. I have many songs in store, both darker and happier, and am very excited to continue creating.
