Psalm 69 by Gary Penkala Choir - Sheet Music

By Gary Penkala

Psalms - with a CanticaNOVA twist! The music for each of these psalms is based on a chant that is linked either to the words of the Psalm (e.g. Psalm 34, with the refrain "Taste and see the goodness of the Lord" is based on the eucharistic chant, Pange lingua gloriosi) or to the occasion for which the psalm is used (e.g. Psalm 104, used on Pentecost Sunday, is based on the chant Veni, Sancte Spiritus - "Come, Holy Spirit"). Except where noted, each psalm consists of a unison refrain and set of verses (the Easter Psalm also has a descant with the refrain) with organ accompaniment. A melody-only version of the refrain is included for congregation use, and a partial (if the chant has many verses) or full version of the chant upon which the psalm is based is also included as a reference. At least two copies of each psalm are needed for performance (one for cantor, one for organist).
