Composed by J. S. Bach/Boyd E. Gibson. Baroque,Contemporary,Sacred. Score. 10 pages. Boyd Eugene Gibson #5993725. Published by Boyd Eugene Gibson (A0.965303).

This setting of the 23rd Psalm combines the new melody with J. S. Bach’s famous chorale, Sheep May Safely Graze from his Cantata No. 208 as the accompaniment in the same way that Charles Goundo’s setting of his Ave Maria uses Bach’s Prelude No. 1 from the Well Tempered Clavier. The added melody is interwoven within the fabric of Bach’s music which makes a wonderful backdrop to this well known and well loved Psalm. I have included an accompaniment for organ or piano. However, if you have any other instrumental arrangement that remains faithful to Bach’s setting feel free to use it with my setting of Psalm 23.
