Graal The tre for violin and orchestra was commissioned jointly by the BBC for the Centenary Season of Promenade Concerts 1995 and byMatineeop de vrije Zaterdag, VARA-VPRO-NPS, Amsterdam. It was first performed on 29th August 1995 at the Royal Albert Hall, London, by Gidon Kremer and the BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen.
