Composed by Sergei Rachmaninoff. Arranged by Kevin Dombrowski. Russian Romantic. Score and parts. Cherry Classics #CC3585. Published by Cherry Classics (CY.CC3585).

Sergei Rachmaninoff's Prelude in G minor Op. 23, No. 5 is a major work in the Piano repertoire. Its fiery and frightening sounds really stir the emotions.

This fantastic arrangement by Kevin Dombrowski for 8-part Trombone Ensemble retains the immense gravity and brilliance of the piano version if not more, with the rich and dramatic sounds of the trombones.

The 4-minute arrangement is appropriate for advanced performers. The bottom part may be performed on a contrabass trombone.
