Prelude for Brass Quintet is an arrangement based on the hymn tune Lob Gott Ihr Christen, composedby Nicklolaus Hermann (1480-1561). Several Christian hymns have been set to this melody. This Prelude uses the hymn tune as a basis, but includes other variations. It is suitable for prelude music at church services, and perhaps at a school ensemble recital.
