Why I liked Pictures
This product is very high quality, and there are many notes about different versions. I definitely liked the product itself, because this is one of my favorite pieces for the piano. Mussorgsky showed his love for art through his interpretations of different portraits of certain events, with the Promenade scattered throughout in different variations. Even though I said that this was for advanced players, not all of the movements are this difficult, for example The Old Castle. These pieces can be played selectively, or as an entirety, and is a good suite for program music.

As expected
Can't get better than Henle and the finger suggestions are spot on. Quality of the publication and contents are very good and as expected.

excellent urtext
Compared to the Wiener version, which doesn't have fingering suggestions, the Henle edition stands alone as the best urtext (I always prefer fingering suggestions). I bought three different urtexts, and this is the one I kept. I'm not a Henle devotee by any means, but in this case, their version is superior.P.S. The reviewer who gave it two stars is wrong about the dynamic markings - they're exactly where they should be. Two stars for this edition represents nothing more than ignorance shrouded in anger. And fingering suggestions are exactly that - suggestions. If you don't like them, cross them out and insert your own like everyone else does.
