Piano Waltz in E-flat Major is a basic waltz for piano, written by Franklyn Grace in 2020 during her time as a Music Composition Major at Olivet Nazarene University.
Performance Notes: Piano waltzes have always held a certain aesthetic appeal for me as both a performer and composer. This, Piano Waltz in E-flat Major, is only one of several waltzes I have written in the past and intend to write in the future. At their most fundamental level, I see them as a basic to which I can always turn back for peace and familiarity, while also finding myself inspired to experiment with new musical ideas and complexities. In much the same way, Piano Waltz in E-flat Major expresses my love for the art of the waltz by starting simply, then growing to explore bolder sounds and more colorful phrasings, before coming around to resolve with the same simplicity as its origination.
