Obi Dancing Concert Band - Sheet Music

The Obi Obi Creek meanders through the picturesque town of Maleny in the Sunshine Coast hinterland of Queensland. On its journey to the Mary River, it pours through Gardener’s falls and past tranquil pockets of rainforest and pasture on its way to Lake Baroon. It is home to platypus and waterbirds and many native Australian animals who drink from its waters. Obi Dancing is a tribute to the Ob Obi Creek and the Maleny township. The music begins with the stillness of Lake Baroon. It then winds past Maleny town and recalls the Maleny Folk festival (which soon outgrew the town and became the Woodford folk festival); full of driving Celtic rhythms and the irrepressible need to dance. The piece then continues through to Gardener’s Falls and over rocky creek bed filled with waterholes and swimming spots to finish right back where it began at Lake Baroon.
