Composed in 1890, this early cycle by Nielsen reveals his youthful lyricism, humor, and distinctive Nordic character. Each of the five short movements contrasts in mood from the gentle folk-inspired Folketone and playful Humoreske to the graceful Arabeske, tender Mignon, and spirited Allegretto Tempo di marcia.
This arrangement brings the piano originals to life with the color and depth of a full wind orchestra while preserving their clarity and charm. Suitable as a complete concert suite or as individual short pieces within a Nordic-themed program.
